The use of a backtrack frame enables an individual to recapuulate what was done or said previously. Most of the time, backtracking will allow a practitioner to re-establish what was important during a conversation and guide the experiencer in other directions.
Examples:
“I remember you once said…”
“Is it true that you’ve wanted to…”
“Okay, [...]
The use of any sensory stimulus as a means to condition responses. The sensory stimulus may be in the visual, auditory, kinesthetic, olfactory or gustatory sensory system.
For example, traffic lights act as a visual anchor. The smell of your favorite food acts as an olfactory anchor.
An analog submodality has different shades and degrees of intensity. When looking at the submodality checklist, you can identify different submodalities which are analog versus those that are digital in nature.
For instance, Brightness is an analog submodality, but not association/disassociation.
An NLP framing method that involves associating oneself into a future state into an “as if” situation as though the outcome had already been achieved. Useful to consider when someone is uncertain or stuck in order to promote problem solving and solution finding.
Behavioral cues that give people an idea which representational system or (visual, auditory or kinesthetic) emotional state is being accessed or used.
This process comes in framing agreement with a person, instead of immediately disregarding what that person says with a “no” or “you’re wrong”.
Instead, some structures that can be used to generate the agreement frame are as follows:
- “Yes, I agree that…, and…”
– “I could see it that way if I were [...]

Based on my meddling, I’ve come up with the concept of State-Based Reframing. I’ve discovered that to come up with a reframe, one needs to enter the appropriate emotional state.
e.g. Nobody believes in me
(shock) what? really? I don’t believe that! (sarcasm) with that attitude who’s going to ever believe you? (humor) Lol – [...]
